IKBFU — anything is possible here
An image film where every live-action scene grows into graphics
2021_17 · БФУ ЗДЕСЬ МОЖНО ВСЁ
About the project
The brief and the answer
Exactly a year after the first image film, Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University asked for the next one — a film that would show applicants from Russia, the CIS and the Baltic states the full range of what the university offers, and make them want to come here specifically. The line “anything is possible here” became both the meaning and the method: the film is built from short “you can…” moments, and in each of them live action grows into graphics. The campus from above, with books, coffee, headphones and golden letters spelling IKBFU drifting through the air. A student with a cup by the Cathedral, with engravings, a bust of Kant and antique coins blossoming around him — “historic architecture”. A student by the House of Soviets among three-dimensional clouds and towers — “modern architecture”. Then Polaroid shots inside a film-strip frame, glowing formulas in a chemistry lab, the words “you can swim” assembled from bubbles underwater in the pool, surfing in the Baltic inside an Instagram post, international students in a lecture surrounded by stories and emoji, a stern professor at the blackboard, the Dancing Forest, the botanical garden and the dunes of the Curonian Spit from a drone. It ends with the whole year group gathered under the golden letters on the facade of the main building. The project took a month.
