Moy Biznes — entrepreneurs and Finik the corgi

The brief and the answer

The Moy Biznes centre put the brief plainly: raise awareness of the centre and of Finik, its corgi, among small and medium business owners. So we made a commercial that never pretends not to be one. Four characters — a potter, the director of a large plant, a make-up artist and a baker — address the camera in turn, but the frame keeps giving the shoot away: stands and lamps sit in shot, a boom mic hangs from above, the camera operator’s silhouette crosses the edge, and a make-up brush reaches into somebody else’s take. The potter drops his cup and starts over, the director takes a phone call mid-line with his beautiful wife and Finik the corgi beside him, and the baker is played by an actor playing a baker — with a great deal of feeling. Each episode has its own set and its own colour: an ochre cyclorama for the potter, a brick-red set for the director, a pink salon for the make-up artist, and a warm room that turns almost black for the baker.
