The Cathedral — hidden signs and secret doors
A three-part 360-degree tour with a storyline and historical characters

About the project
The brief and the answer
Königsberg Cathedral commissioned a virtual tour, so we filmed one on an Insta360 Pro 2 panoramic camera and added what tours usually lack: a storyline, historical characters and visual effects. Viewers turn the camera themselves and end up where guided tours do not go — the library of rare editions from the 15th to the 17th century, the organ, the brick levels beneath the vaults, the tower gallery at sunset. Along the way they meet Kant, Hoffmann, Luther von Braunschweig and Karamzin, with Nikolay Khramov presenting. In one scene the cathedral vaults drain of colour before your eyes and turn into black-and-white wartime footage with aircraft passing over the roof. The tour was released as three episodes on the cathedral’s YouTube channel and at sobor39.ru — this page carries its trailer. The production time, if our own caption is to be believed, was one hundred years.
