About the project

The brief and the answer

Over the time we have worked with the SHUM team, a warm and trusting relationship has grown: we discuss ideas together, look for unexpected moves and try new formats. For the opening of the forum we made a film where live action meets drawing. The cast was shot in a black studio on a round pedestal, while the whole world around them is drawn by hand: white lines, arrows, brushes and stars spread across the frame and change along with what happens to the person. The forum’s verbs run through them — to learn, to create, to find friends, to grow in a profession, to enjoy the moment — and between them comes the geography of the participants: a list of cities from Kaliningrad to Yakutsk, and footage from the venue itself.
