The brief and the answer

The A Scape bungalows stand right in the dunes, close to the water: dark timber, a window across the whole wall and the grey Baltic behind it. We shot the film for Nordic not as a hotel advert but as an escape for two. A couple arrives here from the mainland, leaving the car horns and the rush behind, and after that almost nothing happens — which is exactly the point. They walk the empty beach and listen to the sea, light the stove, have breakfast by the fire in deck chairs, read in bed by the window. We shot in a wide cinematic format and a cold northern palette: grey sky, bleached dune grass, dark timber walls — and warmth enters the frame only where people and fire put it there. Over all of it runs a text written as verse, promising exactly what the place does: a quiet that is good to share.
