The brief and the answer

The first image film for the Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University — the one that “Anything is possible here” continued a year later. The brief: show applicants from Russia, the CIS and the Baltic states everything the university offers, and make them want this one. We open on a state every school leaver knows: a boy at his desk with other people’s questions and advice hanging in the air around him — “Where should I apply?”, “What should I study?”, “How do you even live after school???”, “Help me choose!!!”, “Still haven’t decided…”. He drowns in the noise — and falls straight through the screen. From there the film carries him through the university like a set of levels: a library where an engraving of Kant comes alive inside a book; a chemistry lab with glowing reagents; a view down a microscope where cells shimmer like stained glass; a green portal in the middle of a research building; a greenhouse; an aircraft cabin with a pixelated Kant riding the wing over a voxel landscape outside the window. He ends up exactly where he started, except that a paper Kant figurine now stands on his desk, next to the university logo. The whole film rests on the graphics, and the team released a separate backstage and VFX breakdown to go with it. One month from start to finish.
